Homemade Bubbles with a Personalized Label

Most kids love blowing bubbles, especially kindergarten kids. You can make better bubbles than those sold in stores, and you can add personalized labels to make unique party favors that can be refilled and used again and again. This bubble recipe is by far one of the best homemade bubble recipes available, and when bottled with personalized labels, they make fantastic party favors.

You’ll need several small containers with tight-fitting lids. Plastic yogurt containers are ideal for this project. You will also need straws cut to the proper lengths to fit the containers, 1 ¼ quarts of water, ¼ cup of light corn syrup, and ½ cup of your favorite dishwashing liquid.

Combine the water and corn syrup until it is thoroughly mixed, and slowly blend in the dishwashing liquid to avoid making suds. Using a straw, give the bubbles a try, and add a little more dishwashing liquid if necessary. They will keep for months on end if stored in air-tight containers.

Finish this party favor craft project by making self-stick labels using a computer and printer. You will find dozens of free printable birthday graphics online. Alternately, the kids can create their own labels with markers, crayons, or colored pencils. Place a finished label on each container, and protect them with clear box tape.

The kids will love these personalized party favors, and more than likely you will enjoy them just as much. Bake the figures according to product label instructions, and allow the pieces to cool completely before handling. Once they are cool, optionally they can be painted or coated with clear acrylic sealer. Painting is not necessary if using colored clay. All that is required is a good imagination and a lot of creativity.
