Instead of buying party favors for your kindergarten child’s next party, consider making unique party favors. Homemade party favors are usually much better in quality than store-bought party favors, and they generally cost less too. You can make unique party favors for kindergarten kids that are sure to go over big, and best of all, you and your child can enjoy making the party favors together. Give these unique ideas a try. Kindergarten kids love them!
Homemade Bubbles with a Personalized Label
Most kids love blowing bubbles, especially kindergarten kids. You can make better bubbles than those sold in stores, and you can add personalized labels to make unique party favors that can be refilled and used again and again. This bubble recipe is by far one of the best homemade bubble recipes available, and when bottled with personalized labels, they make fantastic party favors.
You’ll need several small containers with tight-fitting lids. Plastic yogurt containers are ideal for this project. You will also need straws cut to the proper lengths to fit the containers, 1 ¼ quarts of water, ¼ cup of light corn syrup, and ½ cup of your favorite dishwashing liquid.
Combine the water and corn syrup until it is thoroughly mixed, and slowly blend in the dishwashing liquid to avoid making suds. Using a straw, give the bubbles a try, and add a little more dishwashing liquid if necessary. They will keep for months on end if stored in air-tight containers.
Finish this party favor craft project by making self-stick labels using a computer and printer. You will find dozens of free printable birthday graphics online. Alternately, the kids can create their own labels with markers, crayons, or colored pencils. Place a finished label on each container, and protect them with clear box tape.
The kids will love these personalized party favors, and more than likely you will enjoy them just as much. They really are the best homemade bubbles, and because you are using recycled containers, they are cheaper than the store-bought varieties. Consider sending the recipe home with parents so they can make refills for their kids.
Polymer Clay Figures
If you have never made anything with polymer clay you really should give it a try. You can make absolutely any shape or figure you want, and polymer clay figures that are baked in the oven make fantastic birthday party favors for kindergarten kids. The clay can even be used as a fun party activity if you allow the kids to make their own clay figures.
Visit your local craft store, and choose the colors necessary to make the figures you want. Consider making cats, dogs, little clowns, ladybugs, or anything you and your kindergarten child want to use as fun and decorative party favors. Gather the necessary colors to make a particular figure, or give the kids at the party the necessary clay to use their imaginations and make what they want.
Bake the figures according to product label instructions, and allow the pieces to cool completely before handling. Once they are cool, optionally they can be painted or coated with clear acrylic sealer. Painting is not necessary if using colored clay. All that is required is a good imagination and a lot of creativity.
The kids will be thrilled with these unique homemade party favors that are far better than those sold in stores. Best of all, you and your child will enjoy the time spent together making these fun and easy projects. Homemade party favors usually are better than store-bought items in more ways than one.
